Police have detected another stock of chemicals, suspected to be used in the production of crystal methamphetamine (ICE), at a residence in Kandana.

These chemicals are believed to be similar to the substances recovered on September 6 during a raid in Thalawa, Middeniya, also linked to ‘ICE’ production.

According to police, the chemicals may have been brought to the Kandana residence about four months ago. They are scheduled to be transferred to the Tangalle Police for further investigations.

Meanwhile, another stock of chemicals suspected to be used in producing ‘ICE’ was discovered yesterday morning (07) at a property in Netolpitiya, Tangalle, following a raid conducted based on local intelligence. A quantity of white chemical substances was recovered.

Police confirmed that both incidents are being investigated to determine their connection to organized drug production networks.
