Tuition Classes Targeting 2025 A/L Exams Prohibited from Midnight Tomorrow

The 2025 G.C.E. Advanced Level (A/L) Examination is scheduled to begin on November 10 and continue until December 5, according to the Commissioner General of Examinations, A. K. S. Indika Kumari Liyanage.

She confirmed that all arrangements have been finalized to conduct the exam at 2,362 centres across the island.

A total of 340,525 candidates are expected to sit for the examination this year, comprising 246,521 school candidates and 94,004 private candidates.

The Commissioner announced that all tuition classes, seminars, lectures, workshops, and mock paper discussions targeting the A/L examination will be prohibited from midnight tomorrow (04).

She further stated that admission cards for both school and private candidates have already been issued. Those who have not yet received their admission cards may download them via the Department of Examinations website starting today (03).

Offering advice to students, the Commissioner said:

“At this stage, students have completed their subject preparations and are getting ready for the examination. I urge them to maintain a positive mindset. There are no changes to the question papers—they follow the same format as last year. Students should follow the timetable, read each question carefully, organize their answers, and complete them within the allocated time.”

The Commissioner also appealed to parents to maintain a calm and supportive home environment, helping their children face the examination without undue stress or pressure.
