Colombo, Sept. 30 – The Department of Motor Traffic announced today that temporary driver’s licences, issued during the renewal process, will now be available at the National Transport Medical Institute in Nugegoda.

The initiative, launched as a pilot project effective today (30), aims to streamline the renewal process.

According to the Department, if no changes are required to the existing driver’s licence, applicants can directly obtain their temporary licence from the Nugegoda Medical Institute.

This move eliminates the need for applicants to travel to the Werahera Motor Traffic Office for temporary licences, the Department confirmed.
