A 21-year-old youth was killed and another injured in a shooting incident on Malani Bulathsinhala Road, Boralesgamuwa, around 12.30 a.m. today (24).

The deceased, identified as Gihan Dulan Perera (25) of Mount Lavinia, was shot by an unidentified gunman who arrived in a three-wheeler. Police say the victim was walking with eight others after attending a musical show when the attack took place.

Preliminary investigations suggest the incident followed an argument at the musical show. Police further revealed that both parties involved are linked to organized criminal groups.
